Scoutmaster's Minute updates and ideas

Take Me to the River

Troop-

We've a weekend awash in Scouting opportunities, starting with the Des Plaines River Cleanup at the Trailside Museum in River Forest this Saturday from 8-10am. This is a unique opportunity to collect the elusive Conservation volunteer hours needed for several Scouting ranks and contributes to all the volunteer requirements of every rank.

After the river cleanup, we'll depart from Grace at noon for a one-night tent campout at Green Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville. Meals have been assigned to Jonathan, Sam L., Eli, Wes and Aydin. If anyone can't attend we'll reassign, no worries.

Please signup  for camping here by this Friday morning so these Scouts can plan their menu accordingly.

Lastly, now is the time to consider this year's trip to Ed Bryant Scout Reservation, our pinnacle week-long camping event from July 21-27. Adult involvement is crucial so please consider helping with the drive there or back and spending a few night's at camp. Signup to come.

See you Saturday morning!

Commenti

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
