Scoutmaster's Minute updates and ideas

Cave Camping

Troop-

We're one week out from our inaugural visit to Eagle Cave in Blue River, WI, where we've booked the In-Cave Camping and Exploratory Program (4.7 stars on Google Reviews).

The $80/pp fee includes two nights of cave camping/exploring as well as all meals (Friday night snack, 3 meals Saturday, Breakfast Sunday). Please reimburse the Troop using Venmo or cutting a check to Treasurer Dan Olson.

Stuff not to bring:

-Tents (not necessary, though allowable if you'd like)

-Scout uniforms (or any clothes your grandma would call "nice")

-Food (Nothing but water is allowed in the cave. )

Stuff to bring:

-Cots, sleeping matts and winter sleeping bags

-Ruddy clothes (the kind your grandmother would classify as "rags")

-Headlamps, bike helmets, knee pads and grip gloves (you know, like, cave stuff)

-Games (the old fashioned kind with boards n' cards n' stuff)

-Money for Friday night dinner en-route (TBD, cheese curds required)

To tackle this leisurely 3.5 hour trek deep into America's Dairyland, I recommend gathering at Grace Lutheran to depart at 4pm on Friday, February 8th (dinner on the way TBD). We've a total of 20 people booked for this trip and my ride can hold a total of 8. I'm not good at math but I believe this leaves us short by a handful or more. Please reply here with how many you can accommodate round trip. Return ETA is Sunday midday.

Unless it becomes necessary, I'm not planning to haul the Troop trailer for this trip.
